Kym Mazelle

Ibiza, Spain

Raised in Gary, Indiana, Kym Mazelle grew up a stone's throw from one of pop music's reigning dynasties, the Jacksons. During her studies at Mundelein University, Kym set out to become a diva in the true sense of the word by studying opera. Disillusioned by the genre, Kym quickly realized that she would have to take a different path to divadom. The world of opera's potential loss was dance music's great gain, with Kym as one of the early pioneers of Chicago House Music. Kym is now recognized as the "queen of house music."

Her impressive discography spans many hit singles including "Useless (I Don't Want You Now)" with fellow pioneer Marshall Jefferson, "Wait" (Duet with Dr. Robert of the Blow Monkeys), "Missing You" (International world-wide hit with Jazzie B & Soul II Soul) a group with whom she toured the world.

Kym recorded "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" with fellow diva Jocelyn Brown. The song was produced by Simon Cowell (American Idol). Her cover of "Young Hearts Run Free," which is featured on the six time platinum film soundtrack "Romeo & Juliet," was nominated for a Grammy. Kym also recently took part in ITV's "Celebrity Fit Club" where she lost 2 stone.

Miss Mazelle hasn't stopped there. Taking on one of the lead roles in the West End's smash hit celebration of "The Genius of Ray Charles," and the musical "I Can't Stop Loving You." She recently starred in "Thriller Live: The Musical," at the Dominion Theatre.

Kym has had the opportunity to realize one of her long time dreams: to front one of the best blues bands in the world. In 2007, she took gospel music to the Island of Ibiza, Spain.
