O-Solo
Newark, New JerseyThe MC born Omar Rahbean Hurt, O-Solo received his lyrical stripes after battling at the clandestine Fight Klub, an underground invite-only emcee competition held at secret locations throughout Manhattan.
After an unsuccessful development deal with Def Jam and runs on BETs 106 & Parks Freestyle Friday and MTVs Direct Effect, Bryan Leach, TVT Records Vice President of Urban A&R, signed O-Solo through Miss Boss Lady Entertainment. "I was looking for years for an artist from the East who had the whole package -- voice, style, hunger, story -- and I knew O-Solo was it as soon as I met him. Solo is the future of TVT," states Bryan Leach.
Now securely ensconced in his new label home, he is set to drop his tentatively titled solo debut, "The Last Level of Rap". The title is a weighty burden he has no problem bearing so long as he can impart his own perspective to the rap game. "All my raps are everyday problems or life issues that you go through whether they funny or not that nice," he adds.
