The Goldenhearts

San Francisco, California

With an ear for the romantic and the dramatic, San Francisco's the Goldenhearts bring a special kind of psychedelic rock experience that may best be described as psychedelic chamber-rock. Performing live with a 4-piece string section, the Goldenhearts are an experience that both rocks and lulls. As stated by The Neave: "Roger Rocha’s beautifully pitched yet demurely irregular vocals and impeccable guitar skills fuse with Ari Gorman’s driving bass, Chad Tasky’s delicately bitchin’ percussion, and last but certainly not least [the] commanding violin to create music that is a complete entity in and of itself—all you need is here, all you’ll ever want is just waiting for you to find it."

The Goldenhearts' new record, "Is There Love On Mars?" is a richly textured roller-coaster ride of the human romantic condition-- full of romance, danger, heartbreak, excitement, death - and beauty.

Roger Rocha was gifted with a vision of a live band whose purpose was to create a soundscape that sincerely embodies the angst and the ecstasy of relationships and intimacy. The Goldenhearts were formed in 2007 to further this vision. Featuring the songwriting of Roger Rocha (formerly of 4 non blondes, El Destroyo), the band originated as a string ensemble and has evolved into a unit that morphs from rocking band to pure string ensemble during a single show. The Goldenhearts are rounded out by Ari Gorman on bass and cello (El Destroyo, Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, a session player many major label albums) and Chad Tasky on drums and percussion (Disastroid, has toured with Ryan Adams), with string section headed by Jacob Joseph-Hanson (Kaboom Quartet).

Much like the experience of a love affair that sometimes goes awry, a Goldenhearts show is at times beautifully gentle and other times is pure chaos; during a single Goldenhearts show you will hear a flurry of psychedelic guitar noise that resolves into beautiful string arrangements. This juxtaposition is perfectly captured on their new record, "Is There Love On Mars."

With a new record, a tour in the works, and an exciting release show featuring a major artist opening for them, the Goldenhearts are enthused about the excitement they are generating. No longer only a staple of the SF Bay Area music scene, the Goldenhearts intend to staple the nation. And then some! The end of 2010 sees the sun shining on the Goldenhearts future, and 2011 is bound to be their year.
