You Say France & I Whistle

Ever since the band started, 2006, You Say France & I Whistle has been creating a fantastic mix of explosive joy and well thought sincereness in their music. They are much loved in Stockholm (Sweden), but they don't intend to stay there forever.

What is the first thing people is struck by about you guys?

On stage, we're a big sweaty pile of soft toys, balloons, party and song explosions that is hard to resist, even for the bitter swede.

You have all a history in other bands, why did you start YSF&IW?

We grew a bit tired of that kind of rock attitude, that so many bands and artist go along with, where the posing seems to be more important than the pure feeling of smiles and dance – so we decided to ignore everything about that, and to create our own creative and somewhat strange bomb of happiness instead.

What do you mean, creative?

Well, we challenge the old plastic CD covers with covers in fabric, we challenge the traditional release partys with exhibitions containing interpretations of our own songs, and you'll never see the same live show twice from us.
